What’s a pet store trip without stopping to look at the betta fish? The only danger in looking is that you may fall in love with the fish you see and have to rescue him.
And so Tricia’s rant is readable she is saying:
“LOOK AT THE CUTENESS!!! Can we keep him? Can we???? Please? Pretty please? He’s so pretty and colorfull! Look at all the colors!! Hes got blue and purple and green and white and pink and he is adorable!! Please? Can we take him home? I bet Seto will be thrilled! He’ll love having a brother! Or he might be mad because he is a betta fish but they won’t be in the same tank so it’ll be okay. So can we keep him?????? Please? Please? Can we? Pretty please? He is sooo cute!!!!!!!”
This basically sums up how I found my little Neptune. We did intend on only going to the store for fish supplies for Seto but I just had to go look at the other bettas. I’m really glad I did because I found one of the coolest fish ever. Neptune was really pretty and always changing colors. He was sweet, adorable, friendly and I miss him so much.
A month ago on June 4th would have been Neptune’s first birthday. Sadly he got swim bladder and passed away in March. I was working on Fish are Blue bit by bit before his passing, but losing him really pushed me to make this comic a reality. Even though he wasn’t in the comic yet, I wanted to start the comic on his birthday. In a way, this comic was a birthday present to one of the coolest fish ever. It is a way to be able to keep his memory alive. Some might think its crazy but I don’t care. I love my fish and I’m proud to make a comic staring them!
